Art Museum with the Explorers Group
Are you interested in Norwegian art? Then please come and join us for our March outing to the wonderful Stavanger Kunstmuseum.
We’ll get a guided tour of the current Olaf Lange exhibit ‘Power and Mythologies’ (‘Makt og mytologier’) and we will also take a look at the Frida Hansen exhibit at the end! This guided tour has been arranged especially for People Who Connect members, and is a People Who Connect sponsored event.
When: Tuesday, March 26th, 2019 at 11:00am (we’ll meet at 10:50am at the entrance of the Art Museum).
Where: Stavanger Art Museum, Henrik Ibsens gate 55, 4021 Stavanger. The museum is located on the shores of lake Mosvatnet but please remember that here is no parking next to the museum. Paid parking can be found across the street at P-Forum or behind Stavanger Idrettshallen. Google Maps
Cost: 80 NOK (90 NOK if paying by Vipps) for PWC members and 120 NOK for guests (130 NOK if paying by Vipps).
Please make your payment via bank transfer or Vipps to the PWC account 3201.08.90313 by Friday, the 15th of March 2019. Be sure to reference "Your Name" and "Art Museum", so we can associate the payment to you.
After the tour it will be possible to have a coffee or lunch at the museum's café & gift shop. It’s also a great place to take visitors after a walk around the lake Mosvatnet!
About the exposition:
The Norwegian painter and print maker Olaf Lange was born in Stavanger in 1875 and also died here in 1965 but spent most of his artistic career abroad. The Art Nouveau textile artist Frida Hansen was his cousin and among his other relatives was the painter Kitty Lange. Click here for more information.
